Your tropical hide-away in the centre of Amsterdam...B&B BARANGAY!!

Barangay is a Filipino word meaning small village or community.

Our tropical decorated guesthouse is located in a typical Amsterdam canal house built in 1777 on the former coastline of Amsterdam.
The house still has her original facade with a gable stone of an island with 3 palm trees. We welcomed our first guests in August of 1999.

We give each guest a warm welcome, a uniquely decorated room and of course our world famous breakfasts!

All rooms are non-smoking and decorated in tropical style. They have cable tv, fridge, radio alarm, hair dryer and coffee/tea making facilities. Upstairs there is a computer with fast internet connection available for free and for those with laptops, notebooks and other wireless-capable gadgets, we offer a free (Wifi) connection. On request, we offer a mobile phone and DVD player for a small surcharge.

THE PATIO ROOMS have access to a small patio where smoking is allowed. - Private external bathrooms, Twin or double beds, ( max 2 persons) includes our world famous breakfasts in bed between 9.00-11.00 am. or, have breakfast in our nice self sevice kitchen upstairs from 7.30 - 11.30 am.

THE UPPER ROOMS have double or twin beds. The Two rooms share a huge luxurious bathroom. Includes breakfast in the breakfast kitchen from 7.30 - 11.30 am.
Or, have breakfast in our nice SELF SERVICE kitchen upstairs from 7.30-11.30am

Location wise this is one of the best areas to explore Amsterdam and beyond. Literally, most tourist attractions are just around the corner within walking distance!
Great restaurants, specialty - and local shops, coffeeshops, cafe's, gallaries, hair salons, laundromats, a famous art-deco cinema and MUCH, MUCH MORE!!
The Central station for all kind of public transportation is a leisurely 3-4 minute walk. It will only take you 20 minutes from Schiphol Airport by train, or car.

Not only did we feel safe but such great access to all the "hot" spots in the canal city. Our hosts were very accomodating and always with a smile.

We highly recommend B&B Barangay!!
As a well traveled group we’ve seen the best and the worst.
Barangay falls high on the list. Sure it’s not 5 star luxury but everything was solid. I felt like we lived like the locals.
We wouldn't have had half as good a trip without Ron's all around excellent service and advice. The location alone was worth the price.

The location of the Barangay is perfect to explore Amtsterdam and the hosts are very nice and helpful.
The rooms are comfy (very comfortable bed!),
nicely decorated and make you feel at home right away.
it was also great to have access to a fully equipped kitchen.
I would definitely return to Barangay on my next trip to Amsterdam!
