"VILLA DIAMOND K" is located in an upscale residential neighborhood (map available at http://cozumelrentalcondos.com and pictures of ALL of our available condos at http://www.pbase.com/cozumelmx) on the main avenue to town. We are approximately 10 blocks from the ocean and Cozumel's largest town, San Miguel. We are on the West side of the island which is the most developed. The East side of the island is for the most part undeveloped except for 10 or so bar/restaurant establishments that cater to the daily beach visitors. San Miguel has two public beaches. One each on the North and South end of town. It is a short easy walk or bike ride to town or a taxi can get you there for 20 or 30 peso's. They will pick you up front and will drop you off wherever you want. Even with our location being residential it doesn't mean we lack commercial venues such as restaurants, markets and activities. Some of the islands best restaurants are within blocks from our property. There is a gourmet pastry/coffee shop just accross the street. The towns largest sports field is two blocks away with everything available from tennis, basketball, soccer (meets usually on the weekends) and a perfect walking/running track which is free to the public. We are a privately owned and managed ten condo facility with our private residence on the property offering you the best personal attention possible 24/7.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND Villas Diamond K. I don’t have any attachment to the Villas Diamond K except that we stayed here last March and were so happy with it that we’re back here again this year. It is not posh (no granite counter tops or high-end finishes) but very comfortable with all the conveniences you could ask for. If you are in Cozumel, you’re probably there to dive — so spend your money on diving and choose this wonderful, affordable accommodation.
The apartment complex is about a mile from the ocean, but there is an absolutely gorgeous pool on site in a lush garden setting. It is so tranquil lazing around the pool listening to the birds and feeling like I’m in my own little piece of paradise! Don’t be concerned about being too far away from anything while staying at the Villas Diamond K. Just speak to Doug about using a scooter or a bicycle.
There are several apartments to choose from. They are all new (within the past couple of years) and well maintained. They are spotlessly clean, thanks to a maid service three times a week. There is satellite TV with a variety of channels, free long distance phone calls, and internet in each apartment. The kitchen is complete with all the cooking utensils you might need, but if it’s missing something in particular that you’d like, just ask for it. There is a filtered water- dispensing machine that is always kept refilled. The bedroom has lots of storage space for clothes. There is a wall-safe in the closet. The queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom has an endless supply of hot water due to the on-demand water system.
Terri and Doug Knipe are the best hosts you could ever ask for. They are extremely helpful and friendly. In talking with other guests at the apartments we discovered that it’s not just us that they “adopted” but all their guests are treated like we’re part of their family. They also are excellent sources of information (e.g. how much to pay for taxis, places to eat, etc.).
A few things in the neighborhood that we like:
1) We’re away from all the crazy tourists from the cruise ships. We like being in a more “residential” part of the city to get more of a feel for being in Mexico.
2) We’re only a couple of blocks away from a 25 meter swimming pool (if you’re into training and swimming laps).
3) We’re only a 4-minute walk from the “Ego” gym that you can join so you can work out while you’re on vacation.
We're already organizing our rental for next year -- Villas Diamond K is our home away from home while in Cozumel.

We are in the process of booking our 3rd return visit. Doug and Terry's place has become synonymous with relaxation for me, I don't have to worry about anything....Doug does it all! The condos are all different but all have the same amenities. I like the dehumidifiers they have placed in all units. You don't have that damp, musty smell I have come to associate with tropical rentals. You are walking distance to all grocery stores, and the downtown core...the pool is just the right temperature to cool you down when you return from your jaunt. Internet, Vonage, SAT/Cable TV....just like you never left home, except the maid comes here! Terry and Doug are just the icing on the cake!
